End of Year Awards
Since most schools have ended (or are about to end) for the year, take the time to reward your students for their efforts. (I’m not talking about paying them for grades, but recognizing their hard work.)
Make up awards (Free templates are available at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT101043001033.aspx). Some suggested awards: creative writer award, good friend award, awesome artist award, perfect attendance award, math whiz award, etc.
Matthew 16:27 says, “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.”
Some day every person will stand before God who will judge him or her for the works he or she has done. If you want God to say, “Well done (good job),” then, you must do good works now.
Rewarded for Good
Read Colossians 3:23-24:
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Tell your kids that you are going to reward them for good behavior for a time period (three days or five days). You want them to understand that there will be a reward for obedience and good behavior.
Make up small pieces of paper that say “Caught ya” or “Way to Go.” Tell your kids that you are very happy when they do what they are supposed to do, with a good attitude and right away. Tell them you will be looking all week and will try to catch them doing good. When you do, give them one of the certificates. Let them trade these in at the end of the week for small prizes or a party or a campout in the living room.
You should do every thing to please God because some day He will reward you and it will be much better than anything you can imagine!
Sheep and Goats
As you are sorting laundry (darks from lights), mention that this reminds you of a sorting that will happen some day.
Matthew 25:32 says that all nations will be gathered before Jesus, the judge. And He will separate them as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. Only those who are followers of Jesus will be allowed to go to heaven. The others will be separated from Him forever. Jesus knows what a person thinks on the inside and that makes Him a good judge. He can know what is really true about a person.
