Jesus Is King!
Items Needed: stars cut from construction paper
Crown (a Burger King crown or one from the dollar store will work)
Draw and cut out the stars from construction paper. (Let kids help.)
Send every one outside or to the garage while you hide the crown. Then lay the stars throughout the house in a path that eventually leads to the hidden crown. Invite the kids back in to follow the stars to find the crown. Dub one of the kids the "king" and let him or her hide the crown and make a path for the others to follow. (Of course, all will probably want a turn at hiding the crown and laying out the stars.)
When finished, read Matthew 2:1-12.
Jesus' name for this week is King.
What is a king? (He is in charge of a country or group of people.)
Why is Jesus called a king? (He is in charge of the world; He is the KING above all the kings on the earth.)

Thank You Jesus
Items needed: construction paper, markers, pencils, and note cards
Write a thank you note to Jesus for coming to the earth and giving up His life so we could be with close to God. (Part of worship is to recognize, value, and say thank you to Jesus.)
Ask:
What has Jesus done for you? (He gave up His life on the cross, took my punishment for sin, listens to my prayers, helps me, etc.)
What has Jesus done for you? (He gave up His life on the cross, took my punishment for sin, listens to my prayers, helps me, etc.)
What can you say to Him? (Thank you)
Post these on the fridge as a reminder to say thank you and worship every day!
Optional: Write out any other thank you notes for Christmas gifts that need to be written.

What Are You Willing to Give?
Ask kids to clean out their toys or clothes and bring one or two items (not broken or messed up) that could be given to others. (Helps curb the “greedies.”)
Remind them of the lesson learned two weeks earlier—giving to others who need it is a way to give to God.
The wise men worshiped Jesus. Although He was still a baby, they realized He was God's Son and gave Him gifts.
What gifts did they give Him? Look in Matthew 2:11 if you need help.
The wise men gave Jesus nice things. It is important to give our best, not our broken or ruined stuff, to show Jesus our thanks and appreciation for ALL He has done for us.
