The Ultimate Winner
Have a friendly arm wrestling match between the kids. Join in and wrestle, also. Let the winner of each match compete against the next person in the family until you have the “ultimate” winner.
Ask the winner:
What had to happen for you to win? (Had to keep trying, couldn’t give up)
Did you know the Bible says that we are in a wrestling match?
Read Ephesians 6:12 (For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.)

Putting on the Armor of God
While your child is picking out clothes or getting dressed, talk about putting on the armor of God.
Ask:
Why do we wear clothes and shoes? (To protect our bodies, to keep our feet from getting blisters or cut when walking, to keep us warm in the winter, etc.)
Why do we wear clothes and shoes? (To protect our bodies, to keep our feet from getting blisters or cut when walking, to keep us warm in the winter, etc.)
Why does a soldier wear a special uniform? (To protect him from enemy gunfire, to help him fight the enemy, etc.)
Ephesians 6:11-18 tells us to put on special "clothing" (armor) to protect us against the bad things that come against us. This special clothing is not something you can see and hold, but is something we should have when we are getting ready to start the day. (If you are ambitious write out the following "pieces" and have each family member draw one and then find something to remind you of that piece; the helmet of salvation could be an old football or bicycle helmet with a sign on it that says, "salvation.")
Belt of truth—Know the truth and speak it.
Breastplate of righteousness—God gives you HIS righteousness and help to do right.
Shoes with the gospel of peace—Know the good news about Jesus and share it with others.
Shield of faith—Believe God's Word instead of the devil's lies.
Helmet of salvation—Know that God has saved you from sin and determine to live like Jesus.
Sword, which is the Word of God—Read it, study it, and memorize it.
Close by asking God for His help to fight against sin (doing wrong things).

Sheild Yourself from Paper Wad Lies
Give each family member a piece of paper and ask each one to write a thought/lie that comes to mind about sin. (It's okay to sin; Sin is not that bad. Stealing a pack of gum is a little thing. Telling a little white lie is okay. Everybody disobeys his or her parents sometimes.)
Tell them that wrong thoughts like these are ways the devil tempts them to sin. The devil wants them to sin. Wad up these lies.
Choose one person to be it and have that one to stand on one side of a line while the others stand on the other side. At the count of three, throw the paper wads at him or her.
Ask:
How did you feel with all those paper wads coming at you at once?
Give the volunteer a trash can lid (or storage bin lid or lid to a big box) for a shield.
At the count of three, pick up the paper wads and throw them at him or her again.
Ask:
How did you feel having a shield? (Protected, able to ward off the attack)
When you believe in God and His Word, it is like a shield to protect you from the lies you may hear or think. Knowing God's Word can help you recognize the lies and say no to temptation and sin.
