What Happened Next?
Play “What happened next?” Ask one person to think of a situation. The person to his right will continue the story by adding one sentence. Continue the story with each person adding a sentence, telling what happened next. Start out silly, if you like.
Situation starters to get you going:
A dragon was walking down the street just as you walked out the door.
A dragon was walking down the street just as you walked out the door.
When the light in the fridge went out, the vegetables started fighting.
Anastasia was jealous of her best friend’s new iPod.
Sam struck out for a second time at the ballgame.
Students learned about the first two kids, Cain and Abel. When they grew up, Cain was jealous of his brother (because God was pleased with Abel’s offering), then became so angry that he killed him. Then he lied to God about what he had done. Sin leads you in the wrong way.
What will happen if you keep sin in your life? (it will lead to worse things, to more sin)
When you have wrong thoughts or do wrong things, the best thing to do is to confess it to God—to tell God you are sorry and to ask for His help.

Red Light, Yellow Light, Green Light, Go!
As you are driving the car, use the traffic light as a way to help your child choose to do the right thing with his or her emotions.
What does the red light mean? (STOP) The first step to controlling our emotions is to STOP and think! Don’t just do what you feel like doing; don’t say mean words just because you are angry with your brother. STOP! Close your mouth and think.
What does the yellow light mean? (CAUTION) Pause and consider the consequences! Ask, “What might happen if I do this?”
What might happen if you get angry and hit your brother? (he could get hurt, you would get in trouble, he would have bad feelings toward you, etc.)
What does the green light mean? (GO) Choose to go God’s way! The best choice is to do what is right and go God’s way. If you have done wrong, ask God to forgive you. Ask Him for help to do the right thing.
Review the steps with your child when he or she gets angry or upset.

Simple Prayer - Great Way To Start The Day!
Teach your kids a simple prayer to start the day.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:14; use motions to help learn the verse).
Print it out and post it on the fridge so you will see it every morning.
