Working Together is More Fun!
Students using the D6 curriculum learned that the Jewish people returned to Jerusalem and worked together to build a wall for protection.
Choose a project and work together. Break the big project into smaller "jobs" and write each one on a slip of paper. Put these in a basket and let each person draw a slip of paper to find the job they are to do to complete the project.
Project: Clean the family room.
Jobs: Organize the movies. Put away the toys. Dust the furniture. Vacuum the carpet.
OTHER PROJECT IDEAS: Cook dinner, organize the garage, make a special dessert, plant flowers in the yard, plant a garden, or wash the car
Celebrate when the project is completed, emphasizing the joy of working hard to accomplish something good.

A Broom is Better than a Piece of Straw
Item needed: broom
After dinner, give each family member a piece of straw from the broom. Ask each one to please sweep the floor, using their piece of straw. After expressing shock that they can't do such a big job with only one piece of straw, hold up the broom and ask:
Would it be easier to sweep the floor with this? (Of course!)
When all the pieces of straw are joined together, much more can be accomplished. God wants us to join with other Christians to accomplish more together than we can apart. God is pleased when we help one another and work together (Ephesians 4:16).

"It's a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood"
Cooperate with your neighbors to have a progressive dinner. Enlist the help of three or four neighbors who want to participate. Ask one to make an appetizer, one to make a salad, one to make a main course, and one to make a dessert (or any variation of meal courses).
Everyone should gather at the first house at a specific time. Go from house to house enjoying the meal. Simple is best–crackers and cheese, raw veggies, hamburgers, spaghetti, bread, ice cream, cookies, etc.
